I know, youre excited. I'm kindof lazy and I'm not sure how in depth do go on each of these reviews. Chances are they are going to be very short. I'll give them an overall rating and a driving rating.
So, last time I worked was Wednesday night. Apparantly it was "A" night because all the bands I listened to started with the letter "A".
First up is the Arctic Monkeys, my new obsession. This is something new and fresh for your ears. I dont know if I've ever heard something similar to these guys. Their CD is called "Whatever People Say I Am, Thats what I'm not" and its killer. I dont know if theres that much negativity that I could mention about this CD, besides it took me a few listens before this to get into.
Standout Tracks: (1) The View from the Afternoon (3) Fake Tales of San Fransisco (9) Perhaps Vampires is a bit strong... (theres an awesome drum solo and some sweet guitar effect at the end)
Scores: Not driving: 8.5/10 Driving: 9/10
Next we have Ash with the album "Meltdown". I first heard this CD on the tennis bus last year when Scott introduced me to them, and at first I didnt like them (my musical tastes have greatly expanded since then), and I couldnt tell you why I didnt. This album can just be classified as "rock", because thats exactly what it does... it just rocks. Theres a few tracks that dont rock as hard as the others, but their still listenable. Not to mention, they have some wicked guitar solos (which automatically makes any song 10x better).
Standouts: (1) Meltdown (6) Out of the Blue (11) Vampire Love
Scores: Not Driving: 7.5/10 Driving: 9/10
Finally I listened to "Lady Melody" by the band Audio Karate. This is one of those CDs where a few tracks stick out, but the others just kind of blend in. This album didnt really keep my attention while I was driving either. It still sounds good though, it stards and ends very strong, and theres one or two tracks in the middle worth listening to.
Standouts: (1) Jesus is alive and well (and living in Mexico) (7) Gypsyqueen (11) Who brings a knife to a gun fight?
Standouts: Not Driving: 8/10 Driving: 6/10 |

| Starting Over |

So if I could figure out how to delete old entries, I would. But those 2 are sitting there until I do.
Anyways, I have decided to use this blog to do album reviews. Now, these will not just be any old album reviews. They will be reviews of albums that are listened to while I am delivering pizzas. Something new for you all.
I'm going to start the next time I work, which is I dont know when.
And I'm also looking for recommendations of CDs to review. Just leave a comment with your favorites. |

Today was so cool. Its up there on the list of "days that are cool". RIght, so I get home, eat, go to Alex and Ryan's, throw snowballs, had a good time. Then we go to Kelly's for an Ice cream social! haha w00t. There were some laughs to be had there. Then I went home and what not. Man, it was a good day. |
